Some Useful Tips On Growing Taller Naturally

By PHT Support

When you have had enough of being short, there are things you can still do. Even if you think you have done everything you possibly can, read on and see some more tips to help you grow taller naturally. Not only will you get the benefit of looking taller, it will improve your overall health as well.

These tips will be better understood if we understand some concepts related to our bodies and bones, and how these grow. Your bones now are greater in number than when you were an infant. During the early years, your bones consisted of a substance called cartilage. As one grows throughout the years, the cartilages will fuse into solid bones. At adolescence, the process will continue on and the growth plates will continue to lengthen.

Don’t be too easy to believe what you see in advertisements that there are exercises that actually lengthen your bones. It is just not possible. Once the bones reach its full potential, there is just no way to make it stretch some more. If there are organizations that claim to stretch the bones, beware. They may just be after your money. Also, avoid supplements that claim to make you taller. Such hormone supplements simply are all hype.

This doesn’t mean that exercise is completely irrelevant when it comes to getting taller naturally. Performing regular exercise routines with lots of stretching is extremely useful in enhancing our growth spurts and making us grow faster. Once we’re finished growing, continuing to exercise can be effective in making you seem taller, you are more slender, for one, and your muscles will give you an additional confidence boost.

Supplementing regular workouts with height enhancing clothing is a wonderful way to get taller naturally. Wearing dark, solid colors or pinstripes makes your legs and arms seem taller, while adding big shoes such as boots or clogs helps your feet look bigger, subsequently making you taller. Your posture is also important, not only will it make you look taller, but it is better for your back, neck, and feet as well.

Stress Relief Alternatives For The Hectic Woman

By PHT Support

Am I the only women who finds the idea of stress relief stressful? Just how am I supposed to find time in my busy schedule to relax? I know that sounds terrible, but I also happen to know I’m far from being alone. We live in an increasingly hectic and unremitting world of constant motion. But it isn’t good for our health, which is why I’ve been taking a little time out to examine the various stress relief options for women.

Perhaps I am not alone, but I must confess that my life has been so frantic that I’ve never really paused to think about the number of ways in which I could relax. Downing two or three glasses of wine every evening is clearly doing me no good at all, which is why I have been delighted to discover the wide range of stress relief options that are easily available.

Perhaps I have a habit of starting at the end of lists rather than the beginning, but my list started with yoga. My first assumption was that yoga is all about contorting your body in weird ways without falling over, but in truth it’s very easy to get started with yoga, and can be very relaxing too. The benefits of yoga extend to both the physical body and the mental well-being.

Having untied myself from the yoga class my next visit into stress relief alternatives was meditation. I thought this would be easy, but I spent most of my time trying to pick between the many ways in which meditation can be undertaken. I chose a meditation CD which I played whilst lying in the dark with my eyes closed. Very relaxing, although I have no recollection of the second half of the disk!

Although not personally undertaken to any very serious degree the next item on my list of stress relief alternatives was physical exercise. My idea of physical exercise is racing to the back of the shop to be first to the sale rail, but I have several friends who assure me that regular physical exercise can be one of the best stress relief therapies available. I’ll have to take their word on that, the pizza’s just arrived.

The next item on my list certainly focused on the relief half of stress relief. Women’s toys are now so varied and ingenious that they seem to be able to cater for bits of me even I didn’t know existed. I had a browse through an online store, my responses varying from disbelief to confusion to sheer rampant fascination. I spent more time exploring this method of stress relief than physical exercise, although as it did make me a little out of breath, it must have burnt up at least a few calories.

Sometimes of course it’s just not convenient (or decent) to enjoy such methods of stress relief, and so a suitably convenient method is of course to listen to relaxing music. I have an iPod onto which I have saved a whole heap of relaxing songs and music. When I need to unwind a little I can slip the headphones on, close my eyes and try to make sure that I don’t fall asleep and start dribbling in public.

Finally, the one method of stress relief I seem to find hardest of all – finding the time for plenty of rest. Just recently I have had almost no time for rest because I’ve been too busy researching the various stress relief alternatives, but along with eating healthily, getting plenty of sleep and organismic ‘me’ time, there are certainly several alternatives available – it’s just finding the time to try them out.

If you are searching for ways to de-stress your self then check out this new site that offers ideas on chilling out using adult toys as well as rabbit vibrators as effective remedies. Ideal for the body and soul, there are alternatives such as exercise, meditation and just plain rest. Something in fact for every woman irrespective of how stressed out you really are in today’s anxious world.

Learn How To Stop Smoking Today

By PHT Support

If the option of living on a desert island for a month, or smoking a fake cigarette for the rest of your days do not appeal to you, and you don’t want to be a stop-start quitter, you do have other options. And although going cold-turkey is one, you want to give yourself as much of a chance of success as possible. After all its your health and life that’s at stake.

So how do you actually quit? You’re craving that next cigarette, but you don’t want to smoke it. Well great then, that means maybe its time for a little NLP.

NLP stop-smoking programs focus on both the physical and mental aspects of quitting smoking. NLP stands for Neurolinguistic Psychology and its all about empowering brain messages, and patterns. It was created by Bandler and Grinder (a linguist), in the 1970s as a way of overcoming learned limitations.

If you’re new to NLP, then start by asking yourself these three questions as they relate to your desire to stop smoking:

What do you want to accomplish? What has stopped you until now to quit smoking?

You have to have a personal desire to quit, and one that’s internal. For example, you might say: I want to breathe properly again, now that’s a great personal motivator. More powerful than, lets say: I want my partner to stop nagging me about the smell of cigarette smoke on my clothes. The greatest predictor of your success in quitting smoking is self-motivation. It makes something like a 20% difference.

We take actions to fulfill a need, whether its a conscious or a sub-conscious one. Maybe you smoke to relax. Find a healthy alternative that can fulfill the same need. Substitute the feeling of taking a deep breath for the cigarette. Both may have the same effect of relaxing you. One kills, the other doesn’t.

What kind of resources do you already have which can help you achieve that? One of your greatest resources is you, and your brain. Your brain cannot distinguish between what you see and what you imagine (visualize). Visualize yourself smoke-free, breathing deeply, filling your lungs with fresh air on the top of a mountain you’ve just hiked because now you can hike. Add sound, color, a motto to this image, whatever it takes to be a power image for you. Imagine someone takes a photo of you looking and feeling that way, and now you that you have in your pocket. When you want to reach for your cigarettes, reach for the photo instead. This is about rehearsing your decision to not smoke anymore.

Whats my first step?

Start small. Go for the smallest step forward if need be. And then give up a little more every day. Do the ritual, but don’t smoke the cigarette. For example, maybe day one, each time you smoke, you smoke half a cigarette instead of the either one. And when you put it out, you pull out the mental image of you on the top of a mountain, breathing in crisp mountain-air and feeling great. Maybe by day five, you’re down to 5 puffs. Then, you take out your lighter and light up but don’t inhale. You’re essentially reversing your smoking ritual. Concentrate the effort on getting through the day and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Anxiety – Therapy and Counseling

By PHT Support

by Gordon Dalwood

As any sufferer can attest to, having to deal with anxiety and panic attacks can be notoriously difficult and because this condition can virtually destroy the quality of a person’s life, seeking professional treatment is vital. In this case, the most common approach is to seek counseling and therapy from a duly qualified mental health professional.

Therapy and counseling are utilized to get to the psychological roots of the anxiety. The goal here is once the root of the problem is discovered it can be possible to reverse the ravages of the problem. However, one needs to have realistic expectations about these sessions in order to get the most out of them.

First of all, you need to realize that a counseling session is simply not able to deliver an immediate cure for anxiety. Strangely enough, many seem to think that a counselor will somehow reveal magic secret that will eliminate anxiety once and for all. To the contrary, it simply doesn’t work that way. Instead, a counseling session will attempt to reverse any problems which are associated with anxiety and this will be done in different steps. Given enough time and patience, a phenomenal amount of progress can be achieved with regards to excessive anxiety.

One should also bear in mind that while there are standardized psychological tests, the specific questions asked and also the actual approach will vary from one mental health professional to the next. Of course, each mental health professional will have their own methods for administering these tests in order to make a diagnosis. As such, there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach with regards to counseling or therapy sessions.

Another aspect to the testing is there are no correct or incorrect answers to the therapist’s questions. The questions should be answered to the best of your ability. It is very important to be completely honest with your answers and do not keep anything to yourself. This will interfere with the success of the sessions.

You also need to bear in mind that counseling sessions are a two-way street. In other words; it’s not only your councilor that should be asking the questions but instead, you should be asking them questions as well in order to learn more about the condition. These are highly qualified people with plenty of experience so don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Keeping a journal of how the anxiety is affecting you and what you have done to deal with this problem since the beginning of the therapy is another thing you may do when you are not in the sessions. This may help to show you what it is that may cause the attacks to start. Through keeping this journal you may better understand your behavior and see if you think the sessions are helping.

Counseling remains probably the most common treatment of anxiety. For many, these sessions not only help reduce anxiety, they can also reverse various other psychological problems that are discovered during the session. As such, the process is highly recommended to those looking to gain control of their life once again.
