Ultimate Spa And Beauty Treatments

By PHT Support

Spas have been centers for beauty and health for hundreds of years. Many people believed that certain waters held healing properties, and there spas were built. Perhaps this is true, or perhaps it was a healthier climate, or perhaps it was the time spent in relaxation away from stress that really gave them health. Spas linger today, though the idea of a spa and beauty are more related.

Spas, on top of giving you a day off to get away from it all, spas offer a wide range of beauty treatments to help you look and feel your best. Massages are a must-have. Your soft tissues carry much tension built up from your day to day activities. You can carry it in all parts of your body, from your scalp to your feet. By relieving these knots, your entire body and confidence will recuperate.

While you are at a spa, take advantage of facials. You can prevent much damage by having a good skin care regimen at home, but only at spas can you get the full benefit of hard core skin care. There are certain techniques, equipment, and lotions that are simply too time-consuming or expensive for you to do at home. You can have skin steams, extractions, exfoliation, masks, peels, and creams.

You can get your hair done professionally, in addition to other beauty treats. Manicures and pedicures take care of little tended-to parts. You can also get a lot of waxing or other hair removal done there.

The spas have a lot of health benefits, too. It is not all about the beauty. Mud baths, though they make your skin look nice, are also heavily relied upon as treatments for arthritis. They can relieve a lot of suffering. It is also an interesting experience that many people find to be a lot of fun.

Saunas and steam baths are another way to detoxify your system. These can also help you lose weight and feel better. The extreme heat can be dangerous, though, so only do treatments like this carefully. In fact, these spas are often built around sites with natural hot springs.

Trips to spas last a long time, too. This is mostly because they can get you into good habits. You can learn exercises like yoga. You can also plan your diet well with certified nutritionists and find plans that help you reach target weights or healthy living goals.

Natural Skin Care Treatment

By PHT Support

There are so many anti aging skin treatments available on the market right now that it’s virtually a minefield out there. Not all of the available products work equally well, so it pays to make sure you at least have enough knowledge to be able to spot a scam when you see one and find an effective anti aging skin treatment right for you.

A good starting point is to know what makes skin age. There are 2 types of processes at work here:

  • intrinsic (natural)
  • and extrinsic (external)

Very often the process of natural aging already starts while we are still in our 20’s. It does not become evident until we are much older in most cases. Collagen output becomes less. The elasticity of the skin decreases. The body does not replace dead skin cells as fast as it used to. With aging the signals become even more evident: wrinkles that start off small and then grow more pronounced; our cheeks become hollow since there is less fat below the skin, our nails become thinner and brittle, our hair starts to gray. It is at this point that many women turn to an anti aging skin treatment to start to repair what nature has taken away.

External aging is a result of vulnerability to extraneous elements. The most crucial perpetrator here is years of exposure to the sun. The sun starts to breaks down the elasticity of your skin, like a piece of leather. Wrinkles start to form. The reason for this is that the sun suppresses output of collagen and sabotages the elastin in your skin. The final outcome may be skin cancer. Anti aging skin treatment during the younger years may help to prevent some of the damage of growing older.

Other extraneous factors contributing to the way our skin ages include gravitational force (simply drawing things down!), often repeated facial gestures (like frowning or grinning), the position you sleep in with your face, and smoke inhalation.

Anti aging skin treatment is therefore not a one-fits-all solution. If you are a sun lover you will need different treatment than if you lived in Denmark and rarely saw the sun. If you are a diver, you will not have the same problems to face as someone who can’t even swim!

There is a huge variety of over-the-counter products available. All of them promise to solve your problem of aging skin for ever. From exfoliants to scrubs, facial masks to skin lighteners, and blemish removers to skin revitalizers.

It’s hence a sound course of action to make an appointment with a skin specialist to learn which type of treatment your skin calls for. He/she will examine your skin type, talk about your life-style and the consequences of that for your skin, then advise you on which of the numerous brands of anti aging skin treatments on the market would be the most beneficial for you.

Botox – Does It Really Work?

By PHT Support

Sylvester Stallone, Cher, Elizabeth Taylor, Ryan Seacrest, Elizabeth Hurley and Cliff Richards. These are just some of the Hollywood celebrities who have been rumored to avail of the benefits of Botox. Well, they most certainly can afford the price tag at a minimum of $600, not to mention that they most probably need the Botox treatment to extend their shelf life in the highly competitive jungle known as Hollywood.

However, even non-celebrities can benefit from small, controlled and strategic injections of the most powerful neurotoxin known to man. After all, who does not want younger-looking skin free from fine lines, crows’ feet, laugh line and an assortment of other facial wrinkles?

This happy result is possible because of the actions of the neurotoxic protein on the facial muscles once injected. Or more appropriately, the non-action that Botox applies on the facial muscles.

To explain further, most facial wrinkles are caused by the extensive and continuous facial movements like squinting and frowning. With age, the fine lines from said movements become deeper wrinkles. Keep in mind that as you age, your skin loses the elasticity necessary to support the tissues of the face that make for smooth and supple skin.

A Botox treatment works by blocking the contraction of the facial muscles. (This paralyzing action is the reason why the neurotoxic protein is used to treat muscle spasms in other medical disorders) Or more specifically, Botox blocks the production of the neurotransmitter known as acetylcholine, which sends the message to the muscle to either contract or respond according to the emotion being expressed. With this neurotransmitter prevented from doing its work, the facial muscles are essentially paralyzed and, hence, unable to make wrinkle-inducing movements.

So, to answer the question of whether a Botox treatment is effective, the answer is a resounding yes! Patients and physicians report an outstanding 90 percent treatment efficacy rate. It must be emphasized, however, that results will vary from one person to the next with factors like severity and location of wrinkles, exposure to sun damage and smoking and other lifestyle habits affecting the success of Botox treatment.

However, just like most cosmetic procedures, its efficacy is enhanced by following certain precautions. Again, it must be emphasized that for all its medical and cosmetic benefits, this is still the most potent neurotoxin around.

First, you must have your Botox injections performed by a licensed practitioner with sufficient number of years’ experience. You want to be in safe hands especially when you consider the side effects such as migraines, flu-like symptoms, tiredness and queasy stomach. You will be also advised on your suitability for the injections.

Second, you must strictly follow doctor’s orders to avoid negating the beneficial effects of the Botox treatment. These instructions will include not rubbing around the eyes due to the risk of causing droopy eyelids, not touching the area in any way for the first 24 hours after treatment and lying flat on your back for four hours after the injections.

When you have chosen your doctor well and you have followed his instructions to the letter, you can be assured that you will look younger than the rest of your contemporaries as fast as possible. Now, that alone is sufficient reason to choose Botox over other treatments like filler materials.

If you are ready to look and feel young again then you maybe it’s time you give your skin the treatment you deserve. Our Las Vegas dermatology treatment may be exactly what you are looking for. The Smokey Eye Makeup Look

By PHT Support

by jessica oniell

Smoky makeup seems to be the favorite of many women today. Teenagers and adults love to have a dramatic look on the face especially when attending parties with friends, formal occasions, or night outs. This article will give you a step by step instruction on applying smokey makeup look.

Step One: Do the Basic ,Basic means preparing your face when applying smokey makeup look. Wash your face and apply concealer to dark spots to hide blemishes. Apply foundation and powder. You should put liquid foundation on the areas of the eyes so that the eye shadow that you are going to put later on will stick and not be wiped off easily.

2) Getting Ready for the Liner – The use of eye liner adds great detail to your eyes and makes them stand out. The Asian look of smokey eye makeup will enhance your eyes so eyeliner is important to add to the look. Use the liner on the bottom and top rims of the eyes. A small eye will benefit from using the eyeliner from midway on the bottom of the eye drawing it towards the outside. A larger eye will look great if you draw the line from the beginning of the inner eye to the outside.

Step Three: Work on the Shadow, Using a brush, apply eye shadow to the eyelids, and perhaps another color on top. Smudge them to blend them in. You can use a shimmer just below the brow line to create the dramatic effect. You can also opt to apply light eye shadow on the bottom rim of the eyes and smudge it a bit to create a more smoky look. You may also apply a dark shade of eye shadow able a lighter one and smudge the darker shade to the side for another smokey look.

Step #4 – Smudges Should Be Cleaned ,When smudging your eye shadow some of the powder will naturally fall under the eyes. Make sure you wipe these off so you will avoid a messy look and your eyes will look great.

Step Five: Make the Lips Nude ,Because you’ve been very detailed on the eyes, you might want to go nude on the lipstick that you choose. This is done to create balance on the overall look and not to get it a little over the top. You can opt to choose plum colors or flesh color for the lipstick. You may also use lip gloss to create a sexier look. However, you may choose a red lipstick if there is a need to do so. Models use red or darker lipstick to make the smokey look appear super dramatic. You just have to remember to have this look on the proper occasion to avoid looking odd.

Gray and black are the traditional colors used to create the look of Asian smokey makeup. Other colors may be used if they are intense and creative. Pinks and violets are two that can be made to look just as good as the gray and black. The best way is to create your own look by experimenting to see what looks the best rather than just copying the looks used by others. Different makes a very unique statement.

Mineral Bronzer Provides a Natural Tan

By PHT Support

by Marilyn Etzel

When it gets warm outside, everyone wants to be in the sun. Before you go to the beach or on vacation you want to already look kissed by the big yellow ball. Put away your money for the tanning bed and opt instead for a tanned look without damaging your skin.

One way that you can accomplish this is with mineral powder bronzer. Bronzer does just what the name implies: adds a bit of color to your face simulating a day out in the sun. Depending on your skin tone, you can choose a bronzer color that will complement it.

Another benefit of mineral makeup is the feel. Bronzers are lightweight so they don’t clog your pores or feel heavy as the day goes on. You won’t even feel like you are wearing makeup. The coverage of a bronzer hides wrinkles and discolored areas. No one will know that you didn’t spend all day in the sun.

Some bronzers contain shimmering minerals. They give your skin a sparkling look that is perfect for after hours and formal gatherings. A tanning bed won’t give your skin that healthy glow that shimmering bronzers can provide.

How do you apply a bronzer? Moisturize your face like you normally would. Be sure that your skin is completely dry before applying any type of mineral makeup.

Apply your mineral foundation first. It prepares your face for whatever you put on next. Bronzer is supposed to simulate a tan without the harmful rays. Start by applying the bronzer to the apples of your cheeks. If you don’t know where that is, smile. It’s the area of your cheeks that grandmothers love to grab and pinch.

Don’t stop there. Apply your mineral bronzer to other areas of your face as well. Go to your forehead and sweep side to side; then proceed down the bridge of your nose. Your bronzer will be darker than your foundation but only as dark as you would look if tanned by the sun.

Mineral bronzer works well on other parts of your body as well. Let’s say that you are stepping out for the evening in a cute little strapless dress. You don’t want your bare shoulders to stick out. Apply some mineral bronzer to the tops and front of your shoulders and your neck for a sun kissed look that extends beyond your face.

Don’t forget those gorgeous legs. Mineral bronzer can be applied to your lower half as well. You will need a bit more powder than you used on your face, but a Kabuki brush will provide even coverage so no one else will be the wiser to your trick. Mineral bronzer can be used to simulate pantyhose for a more formal function where you don’t quite feel like putting them on. And, because you are using natural minerals, you don’t have to worry about streaking because the minerals will blend into the skin.

The sun can be harsh on your skin. Instead of giving you a great tanned look it will also show damage. Use mineral powder bronzer to simulate a tan without the harmful effects.
