Veggies – One Of The Foods That Speed Up Metabolism!

By PHT Support

by Dan Beckwith

Picture this…

Vegetables are tasty, good for you, fairly low cost and are among the foods that speed up metabolism – which we feel as increased energy – but you knew that.

You’ve been trying to eat a better, more balanced diet and you try to include foods that speed up metabolism so you’ve been eating plenty of vegetables. But for some unknown reason, you barely have the energy to get through the day.

After a hard day at work, all you want to do is plant yourself in front of the television and relax until bedtime rolls around.

Finally, the next morning when the alarm goes off, you feel like you’ve just finished running a marathon. You aren’t rested at all! You hit the snooze button as many times as you can and then finally drag yourself out of the bed. First destination? The coffee pot – ALWAYS!

You could be dragging because you aren’t getting the proper nutrition. You can stop blaming your bed! It could be your veggies. Foods that speed up metabolism and provide the right balance of vitamins and minerals will give you tons of energy- if eaten correctly. Here’s a possible culprit – vitamins are water soluble.

We fix our meals, happily cooking our vegetables – usually in boiling water! This means we’re dissolving the nutrients and literally pouring them out! By the time we’re finished, our meal has virtually no nutritional value left!

Guess what? Most vegetables can be eaten raw. Plus, they usually taste better that way! When given the opportunity, always opt for raw.

The up side is that there are TONS of benefits to doing it that way.

First, you stop throwing out all the nutrients! You are likely to notice an increase in energy almost immediately. Your general feelings of well being will get a boost as well.

Second, for great taste, nothing beats eating your veggies raw!

Third, you don’t have to wash your cooking pots and pans if you don’t use them.

Fourth, you can exact revenge on all those skinny members of your family! There is nothing more funny than LOUDLY biting into and chewing a fresh carrot or a crisp stalk of celery. Done properly you can disrupt conversations – ruin trains of thought – and generally drive your family nuts! (Hey, I may be an old dude but I never really grew up!)

Fifth, you get a lot of good roughage and fiber by eating your veggies raw.

Don’t forget, they taste better too!

What’s our goal? Eat a minimum of one raw veggie at each meal.

Be sure to thoroughly clean them before eating. They DO have chemical and pesticide residues. Whenever possible, try to buy organic, it will cut out the pesticides and they’re healthier.

The average diet doesn’t provide all the nutrients we need, so if you don’t take a daily vitamin supplement, it would probably be a good idea to start.

Don’t skip your vitamins, but as you start to eat healthier foods that speed up metabolism and start getting the nutrients you need in your food, you won’t so desperately need daily vitamins.

Start eating raw veggies and before you know it, you too can be one of those irritating people who jump out of bed in the morning all full of energy and raring to go!

Flatter Abs – More Muscle, Less Fat

By PHT Support

by Dan Soalris

Going through the daily grind nowadays takes up more time compared to the previous generations- more traffic, more work to do, more stress. For most people, it seems like there are just not enough hours in a day to be able to do what they want and that includes going to the gym to get flatter abs.

Since I’m not a financial adviser, I’m going to address that last problem plaguing much of society these days. There are still ways for people to get around a tight schedule so they can still do the right exercises for getting flatter abs in a short time.

Quite a few members of society nowadays have trouble working-out consistently. Lack of exercise combined with the rich, fattening food easily available us have made love-handles and potbellies a normal sight on the street and even on the beach.

The key to getting flatter abs is to lose as much belly fat as you can. This means focusing on losing on body fat loss by burning more calories than is consumed in a day. The only way to do this quickly is through a smart diet and calorie-busting exercises that also keep the body’s metabolic rate high.

There are numerous advantages to having well developed muscles- a sexy physique, enough strength to move the couch to look for lost coins, and a higher metabolic rate. That’s right- the more we pack-on muscle tissue, the more we’re able to keep off extra blubber.

Because muscle tissue consumes calories just by existing, the more buffed we get, the more we’re able to fight off flab. If ‘The Rock’ for example was lounging on the couch, kicking back with David Spade watching Monday Night Football, he’d be burning way more calories than the comedian- even if the latter would be the one in charge of the clicker.

Putting together a workout program that combines the calorie-busting benefits of high intensity aerobic sessions with muscle-building resistance training is the best way for people with a hectic schedule to get flatter abs. The calories burned doing hour’s worth of low to moderate intensity exercises can be done in 15-20 minutes of intense exercise.

In order to be able to be consistent with your cardiovascular exercise sessions, it’s important to pick activities that you find fun- hiking, skipping rope, boxing, etc. Better yet, you can even change to a new aerobic activity every once in a while just to break the monotony. Remember that constant exercise is the key to flatter abs.

Fat Loss And Core Strength – Build A Base

By PHT Support

by Dan Solaris

In these financially lean times, more and more people are getting so caught-up in the daily grind. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to maintain a regular exercise regimen and having a healthy diet is becoming a luxury only a few can afford because of lack of time. This explains why a majority of the North American population is overweight.

The food industry’s successful production of fast gastronomic fare that more often than not fills-up our system with empty calories isn’t making things easier on our bellies either. Buckets of greasy chicken and calorie-loaded shakes are available to us round the clock and they’re taking their toll on our figures.

Since we’re living in a democracy and our government can’t really dictate what stores and restaurants serve, it’s quite obvious that the only way to curb effects of high-calorie dining is through regular exercise. Adopting a regular workout routine even for 30 minutes a day can get us in shape as well as reduce the stresses of the day.

Since time is an issue for most people these days, choosing workouts that have the highest efficiency in using-up energy is the key. Countless studies have been done and it’s been found that there is a way to burn enough calories each day to bring about fat loss without spending most of your post-work hours in the gym.

We amass body fat when we have surplus calories upon hitting the sack each night. The only real way to lose weight from stored fat is to burn more calories than we get from the food we eat. Doing exercises with high calorie-burning potential makes sure we use up all the energy we get from all the unhealthy food we munch on.

Experts discovered that high intensity interval training (a combination of 2 types of cardio exercises) consume the most energy in less time. Since we also have to increase our body’s metabolism and cannot rely solely on cardio exercises for sustainable fat loss, modifying our muscle-building routines to maximize calorie-burn is also a good technique for achieving rapid fat loss.

Core strengthening exercises are perfect for increasing the amount of caloric energy our bodies use up while developing muscle tissue. Working our body’s base- our thighs, buttocks, abdomen and lower back muscle all at the same time will enable us to burn calories faster while improving our posture, balance and endurance.

The myriad of alternatives we have available to us to work-out the muscles of our trunk and legs all at once can also boost the fun factor of our exercise regimen. Playing tennis or basketball instead of the treadmill or aerobics every now and then is an exciting way to shorten our workout sessions while facilitating quick fat-loss.

Fat Loss And Core Strength – The Impatient Fitness Enthusiast

By PHT Support

by Dan Solaris

Ask any gym buff what the most difficult part about working-out is and chances are they’ll say it’s losing fat quickly. A major detriment to working-out consistently is boredom brought about by lack of motivation. Of course, results will come even slower by skipping gym sessions regularly.

In muscle development and fat loss, how fast we achieve results have less to do with body type (ectomorph, endomorph, etc.) than how we eat and exercise. Losing weight from body fat reduction really depends on how much excess calories we have when we hit our pillows at night.

Nutritionists and gym instructors will attest to the fact that body fat loss is a result of creating a calorie deficit each day. The calories we get from what we’ve eaten throughout the day are naturally converted into fat if we’re unable to utilize it through physical activity. Choosing the most efficient exercise in terms of usage of caloric energy determines how fast we see results.

Exercises that focus on the core muscles have been found to be highly-effective in facilitating rapid fat-loss and development of a lean midsection. Core exercises get the muscles of the abdomen, waist, lumbar region and the thighs working together and developing these enhances balance and total body strength as well as get rid of subcutaneous fat.

Working-out the core muscles simultaneously means a greater number of calories burned and hence faster fat loss. This is the perfect workout method for people like myself that get impatient easily when not seeing tangible effects from my labors.

The abdominal exercises in conventional workouts don’t really develop core-strength completely. Too much focus is put on the abdominal muscles and not enough on the obliques and lumbar region. Uneven development of core strength can put strain on the spinal column and cause back pain.

The wider range of motion and balancing efforts involved in Pilates and core exercises recruits more muscle fibers around the midsection. Obviously and this entails further usage of stored calories from body fat, toning-up the body and giving you faster results and increased motivation.

Burning more calories in less time through core exercises can shorten your sessions, lessening your chances of getting bored. Increased usage of caloric energy means a more efficient workout and more visible results- keeping you motivated and on the path to a lean, shredded physique in less time.

Get Flat Abs in 1 Month

By PHT Support

by Jose Loni

In less than 2 months, you can get flat abs. Here is how you can do it: plan your weekly workout, train with resistance that will increase your metabolism and eat a good diet.

It’s only 30 days! First, let’s plan a regular exercise program at least 3-4 times per week. Then revamp your exercise program to incorporate resistance training. The type of resistance training that you will do is going to push you to really work hard and push your body. In doing so, the body will have to burn more calories as well as burn more fat.

Start by doing resistance training that will use more body parts and muscle groups per movement. Also, increase the resistance and lower the repetitions. Try to do the exercises with minimal rest in between sets. This results in increased work output by the body.

More calories are burned from increased exertion using the energy source from food intake as well as from excess body fat. When the body is finished exercising, the body will increase its delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles to replenish and repair damage caused by the exercise session. As a result, the muscles burn more calories, increasing the body’s overall metabolism.

The greater number of workouts during the week allows the body to become very efficient at burning calories and burning the excess fat on the body. The result being the body will end up burning fat for most of the day as it prepares for the next exercise session.

Eating a proper diet and eliminating fatty foods, carbonated beverages and sugary deserts, will make all the difference in preventing more fat from being stored on the body. You will be better able to control your calories and allow your body to burn fat better.

Consuming 5-6 meals during the day, will help you maintain your energy levels and keep from consuming more calories than you need. When you eat more calories than you can consume, your body will store that as fat.

Getting abs in 1 month is possible, all you have to do is push your body to work hard and burn more calories during the exercise sessions and begin to eat more healthily. Two things that will get you on your way to flat abs!
