Given a choice I would rather lose weight naturally than having to follow some strict diet plan. For me though, the key to natural weight loss is by losing old and bad habits and replacing them with good habits. Once you repeat certain aspects of your daily life, losing weight is so easy you don’t even have to think about it.
Let’s face it though, developing good eating habits to aid you in losing weight, takes a certain amount of effort. In other words, you have to want to lose weight first. Once you have this wrapped around your head, it becomes easier to begin developing the right mindset. Think about this, your brain is the most power organ in your body. In fact our brains are the single most powerful organism in the entire universe. Once we can control our brains will it be easier to control our bodies.
Now, while you’re thinking about your weight loss problems, start thinking about the solutions instead. So, before you eat, THINK. What are you eating? How much are you eating? When you start thinking of your eating habits, start visualizing eating more healthy. What should I be eating? How much food do I need? Before you start replacing all you junk food with healthy varieties, try just adding an apple a day at first. On the second day, try eliminating or at least decreasing just one piece of junk food. If you drink a can of soda pop a day, change that to a can of soda pop every second or third day. We drink way too much pop, which also means we ingest way too much sugars. If you are thirsty, have a drink of water instead.
Baby steps. By taking small incremental steps towards your weight loss plan, a long healthy life can be attainable. The three most important yet simple concepts to losing weight naturally are healthy eating, proper exercise and rest. One cannot get along without the other. The key is in the combination of all three. Other questions also need to be answered. Instead of what we need to be eating, we should also be asking:
– when is the best time to eat?
– how much should we be eating?
– why should we be eating certain foods over others?
Losing weight by changing bad habits into good habits can take time, sometimes a lot of time. It’s helpful to have some kind of aids or helpful guides and even supplements to shorten your weight loss time frame. You do not necessarily have to go to a health store to purchase supplements either as they can be found in your local grocery store. One such health aid is as simple as vinegar. If you do no suffer from high levels of stomach acid, try taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar before every meal. The small increase in acid levels will help to break your food down even more increasing nutrient absorption.
Natural weight loss can even be accomplished by actually chewing your food well. You’d be amazed how many obese people just give a quick two bites before swallowing their food. Take a normal bite and chew it until it is the consistency of soup. Did you know that your brain actually counts the number of times you chew. By chewing your food well, by the time you have finished five or six bites of food you are not as full any more.
While you’re eating it’s also NOT a good idea to drink too much liquids which can dilute your stomach acids. Some liquids are more preferable than others to help aid digestion of your meals. Instead of water, drink red wine or orange juice. These are good choices to accompany lunch and dinner as they hold acidic property levels.
Do NOT neglect water. Water is fabulous at helping you lose weight. Proper hydration levels are crucial for the health of most organisims found on this planet. Health guidelines recommend eight glasses of water per day. Some people even swear that their secret to losing weight is drinking cold water. They sip ice cold water all day. This accomplishes two things. The water keeps their bodies hydrated and the cold forces the body to burn more fuel (fat) to keep warm to maintain a constant body temperature.
Losing weight naturally is easier to do if you have a strong mind. For many of us our love of food seems stronger than our want for health. If you cannot control what you eat, try controlling how much of it you eat. Controlling how much you eat is easier by chewing your food well. Chewing your food well can be made a little more fun with a nice glass of red wine…ok fine, orange juice.
