Does a healthy weight loss supplement really exist?

Is it possible to lose weight by using weight loss supplements? If so, how do they affect your health? During the last few years, products have appeared on the market extolled as being a healthy weight loss supplement which will help you get rid of those unwanted pounds.

The weight loss supplement most in demand is the green tea diet pill. The tea itself has been shown to be beneficial to one’s health. It contains catechins which lessen hunger and cause a rise in your metabolic rate. Although the tea can be consumed as a beverage, you can also purchase it as pills or as a patch. Regardless of how it’s taken, it is more successful at combating fat than if you didn’t take it at all. Of the various supplements available for dealing with obesity, green tea is the most healthy weight loss supplement and has the fewest adverse reactions.

Bitter orange is known as a popular weight loss supplement. It became popular after the drug ephedra was taken off the market. Bitter orange is labeled “ephedra-free,” but has been know to produce the same negative effects as ephedra. Products containing bitter orange are usually advertised as being an appetite suppressant as well as a healthy weight loss supplement. Long-term effects of the supplement are unknown.

One choice in the area of weight loss supplements is hoodia. It has been claimed to lessen hunger. However, no one has proven conclusively that it is a healthy weight loss supplement that can actually assist with weight reduction. There have also been no studies to demonstrate the effects its use has in the long run.

One of the other weight loss supplements that is in demand is guar gum. It makes you feel fuller so as to discourage overeating and causes a lowered caloric intake in the long run. Although it is a relatively benign product, it has not yet been proven as an effect healthy weight loss supplement to help people trying to reduce fat. Its use can result in severe diarrhea and the passing of a great deal of gas along with other gastrointestinal disturbances.

One weight loss supplement that claims to burn extra calories in addition to inhibiting your appetite is heartleaf. Ephedra is an ingredient of heartleaf, and that has been proven to raise blood pressure, precipitate heart attacks and may even be fatal. Therefore, heartleaf is obviously not safe to for use as a healthy weight loss supplement.

Weight loss supplements often produce inconclusive or even dangerous results. Just because products say that they are a healthy weight loss supplement and commonly available, do not assume they are healthy. Talk to your doctor before starting any program to lose weight, including taking a weight loss supplement.
