@hcnoreform i dont know if your british or canadian or american, but in the us a state governor just stoped paying for organ transplants, a republican governor, so much for obama care being a death panel, and as for rationing, we all ration, and in a down turn its ration some things so majior things can continue to be done, and some meds are not funded because the cheeper ones do the same job, its like $100 jenes and $40 dolar jene so little difrence it makes no difrence.

Hey - if "universal" socialized care - govt run - whaddever is so great and cost efficient, then why is the NIH cutting coverage of over 28 Million procedures? Why aren't ALL drugs covered in Canada (that is all drug the private ins plans pay for - in fact, WHY do Canadians NEED private insurance? - I digress)This is happening/already for all socialized HC programs:The NHS is planning on extensive rationing of surgery in order to meet budgetary needs.the Washington ExaminerSCARY!

@davijeph Fact : You are wrong...
davijeph (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@marklross2 It was your comments that introduced the British NHS into this debate. I just tried to give a couple facts about your " OPINION". From the way you write I doubt if you could "discern fact" if it was to come up and bite you in the arse. Cheerio and pip pip.
marklross2 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@davijeph Do you think I care about the difference between England and UK? Whatever...it's not America. And here in America, we don't just swallow what ever pill our "academics" issue. Here, we better discern fact and opinion....
davijeph (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@marklross2 Strange I don't apart from pointing out that it's the NHS is UK's National health service not just England's and the internal changes if they happen will not change the basic way the NHS works are facts not an "OPINIONS". The only other thing is the request for people see ""the U.S. Healthcare system in international Context:". In which a US college academic given a simple to understand talk with many facts and only a few "OPINIONS" based on those facts.Well thats my "OPINION"
marklross2 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@davijeph yes yes..just that my opinions are supported by fact and sound logic...yours....well let's just say does a sieve hold water?

i have no idea how old any of you ppl that last posted in this chat, but i am 49 and i remember when the NHS was decentralized, it was in the 70's , then government , especialy thatcher decided centralized government worked best, and we gradualy over 10-15 years centralized a lot of local government activities, now we see the pendulum swing back, its all a load of shit, we need to sort it out, some things should be decentralized, but some things need to be centralized, we need balance.
davijeph (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@marklross2 "OPINIONS" including your "OPINIONS" are what YOUTUBE comments are about, well thats my "OPINION" anyway.
marklross2 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@davijeph Thank you for stating your OPINION about the effects of decentralization.... |
